Channels

What this endpoint does#

Returns the channels the community API key can see. Use it to store a channel_id before get / send / reply / react.
It does not create channels. It does not return chartsEnabled or symbol lists. Admin channel setup lives in Community settings > Channels.

Authenticate → GET /v1/channels → save _id → call Get Messages.

Quick start#

Authentication and permission#

Send Authorization: Bearer <COMMUNITY_API_KEY>. Any valid community key can list channels. Keep the key server-side.

Complete examples#

List (200). message is Get channels list successfully. Envelope { status: "success", message, data }. Each data[] item includes _id, topic, and channelType.
Treat topics as synthetic.

Success and readback#

HTTP 200. data is an array. Save _id as {channelId}. This GET is the readback after admin creates a channel.

If the messaging upstream is unhealthy, this GET can return 503 no healthy upstream. Retry with bounded backoff. Do not treat that as “channels were deleted.”

Retry safety#

This GET does not create channels. Retry timeouts and 503 with bounded backoff.

Gotchas#

Public list fields are _id, topic, channelType. Chart-enabled state is not in this response.
Legacy POST /channels create/update/delete routes are not mounted on this gateway.
Iframe channels are configuration, not this list.
